Friend: “Sky (Golden Retriever) where is the perfect place to live for a Golden Retriever?” Sky: “Woof – Children, children, children, woof. If I can have a friend to play with, it would be like, the best thing ever. Woof. I wouldn’t ever need a big area, just a small place where me and my friend can play. It would be super cool if there is some water and toys like a ball in the game. Off course, afterwards, when I am tired and hungry, some proper dog food with a treat afterwards would be appreciated. Woof. At night my friends bed will be the best place, so I can look after him, of course, and although fighting is not in my nature, nobody, and I mean nobody, will come near my friend without my approval, because you see – I am a Golden Retriever. I am a child’s best friend. Working with children and dogs for the last twenty years, we can say without doubt that we have never come across a more child-friendly dog than the Golden Retriever. If you put together the charming personality, superior intelligence and playful nature, you are looking at the perfect trustworthy and devoted companion. This excellent temperament is also the reason why the Golden Retrievers are the top selling dog and are widely used as therapy dogs. Louwra deals with troubled children on a daily basis, and incorporates Sky extensively in play therapy classes. Children has a tendency to open up towards the dogs a lot easier than towards humans, because there is no judgement involved from the dog.
